Code of Conduct

Thank you for registering to the Latinas in Tech Summit 2024! We are excited to host you at our event this year. As a Summit dedicated towards inclusivity and personal growth for Latinas in Tech,  we ask that all attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers (collectively, “Participants”) read and agree to the following Code of Conduct. The Code exists to encourage the open exchange of ideas and expression and requires an environment that recognizes the inherent worth of every person and group. While at the Latinas in Tech Summit or related ancillary or social events, Participants should not engage in harassment in any form. We expect all participants to follow and respect all laws applicable to our events.

General Expectations

The following guidelines are intended to be exemplary rather than an exhaustive list of the manner in which you should conduct yourself in participating in our activities:

Participants must be kind and considerate – please respect others and use common courtesy, during personal interaction.

Participants must behave in a positive and professional manner that creates a safe and supportive environment for all participants at Latinas in Tech in-person events, online events, and social media platforms.

Participants must refrain from displaying any demeaning, aggressive, harassing or intimidating materials or behaviors. We want respectful dialogue and discourse so we also request that you do not engage in disruptive behavior or attack any participants that may have a different opinion from your own.

There is absolutely no tolerance for any sort of harassing, offensive, discriminatory, or threatening speech or behavior related to race, gender, gender identity and expression, national origin, religion, disability, marital status, age, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, or any other protected category or any activity that otherwise violates applicable law.

Participants asked to stop any harassing, offensive, discriminatory, or threatening speech or behavior are expected to comply immediately.

If a Participant engages in harassing behavior, the Summit organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the Summit with no refund.

Failure to follow this Code of Conduct will result in immediate expulsion from the online activity and will disqualify you from participating in future activities at our sole discretion. This Code of Conduct is without limitation of our other rights under applicable law in maintaining our online events and social media platforms. You are deemed to agree to this Code of Conduct in participating in our activities. We are not responsible for any failure by any participant to comply with this Code of Conduct or for their actions or failure to act in any other manner in participating in our activities.

Harassment

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Reporting Violations

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or otherwise treated in an inappropriate manner, or have any other concerns, please contact the Latinas in Tech Summit organizers immediately.
